ISSUE NOTES - Bob Wilson a young student of language science is hurtling through the solar system at a million miles an hour on the greatest ship ever built. Just before landing it is mysteriously hit by space pirates. But it reaches its destination without further mishap and arrives on Ganymede, a satellite of Jupiter.
Bob and his father, a distinguished biochemist soon find their resourcefulness challenged by a deadly plague which threatens the population of the small colony. And it is a little girl's strange tales of friendship with beings from Jupiter which lead Bob to the solution of a mystery and to the real test of his interrupted studies: communication with alien but friendly Jovians.
