In Vancouver an Asian man without a name takes the bus on a journey north. At various stops along the way he engages in various small acts of kindness or mercy.
A house in the woods is his ultimate destination, which upon arrival, he finds suspiciously empty - the table laid for dinner and the kettle boiling. He finds the occupants dead in the bedroom, bound, gagged and victims of torture.
A flashback to a chance meeting on his journey gives him an idea who the killer is but their motive remains unknown, just like the man’s name.
An intriguing opener…..
