HUNDRED WORD HIT #77 - TWO MOONS #1

Two Moons #1 by John Arcudi & Valerio Giangiordano

Virgil Morris born of the Pawnee nation with the name Two Moons is serving in the Union Army in the American Civil war.

Following a raid on the Union encampment, Virgil clashes with Sergeant McBride over whether to spare the life of a Southern prisoner. McBride is shot by a sniper but morphs into something horrifying with Virgil questioning whether it’s real or a hallucination.

Arcudi sets the scene for something strange and demonic that may just thrive off the horrors of war. Giangiordano’s art is fantastic managing to seamlessly combine historical and supernatural elements.

This is really really good!
