HUNDRED WORD HIT #75 - GRENDEL, KENTUCKY #1-4

Grendel, Kentucky #1-4 by Jeff McComsey & Tommy Lee Edwards

The saga of Grendel gets a modern day re-imaging in the ex-coal mining communities of Kentucky. Coal has dried up, the miners replaced by biker gangs, and growing weed has become the most lucrative source of income.

When Marnie, head of the local female biker gang, discovers the death of her father may be linked to other killings she’ll uncover secrets best left buried in the mine.

This is a great mini, perfectly paced and a feeling it remains respectful to the original story. Tommy Lee Edwards’ art is dark and ominous and the Grendel design is fantastic.
