HUNDRED WORD HIT #5 - SUPERMAN: SECRET ORIGIN #1-6

Superman: Secret Origin by Geoff Johns & Gary Frank

Geoff Johns and Gary Frank’s six issue mini series charts Superman’s early school days in Smallville through to his arrival in Metropolis and job at the Daily Planet to his first crossing of swords with Lex Luthor. A perfectly simple story for anyone unaware of Superman’s origin. Although Luthor isn’t despicable enough, the meeting with Legion of Superheroes seems unnecessary, and the Parasite and Metallo are far too easily despatched Supes, Gary Frank’s art is generally amazing and he scarily captures the essence of Christopher Reeve as Superman . I’m not a Superman fan at all but I really enjoyed this!
