Hard boiled P.I Coogan wakes up dead. He’s been shot in the stomach and his only clue to whodunnit is a mysterious pincer that was lying next to his body.
Stuffing his innards back in, it’s a race against decomposition for Coogan to try and solve the crime and bring his killer to justice.
Although this is not Wrightson’s greatest work, and some of the panels lack his usual depth and detail, it’s still solid Wrightson nonetheless. Niles tells an entertaining supernatural/crime noir tale, and leaves a few loose ends dangling for the future. Provided Coogan makes it.
