It’s a battle royale as Virgil, Miss Frances and the remaining Union troops, surrounded by demons, struggle to find enough iron to fight them off. Miss Frances is almost captured by a winged demon before Virgil intervenes, and then he goes full on psycho and wades into the demonic throng.
Giordano’s art is fantastic, each of the demons are individual and the historical detail of the Union troops and their equipment is amazing. Arcudi leaves enough plot threads dangling for readers to return for the next chapter in what has been one of Image’s best books in recent years. Bravo!
