Kat Somerville receives a call to say her estranged mother has died. Kat and her daughter journey to Comfort Notch - Home of America’s Prettiest Autumn. There’s a sense that something’s not quite right in Comfort Notch; could it be related to the autumnal leaf fall? The town’s children sing a weird nursery rhyme and Kat gets a shock at the funeral parlour. This is a solid first issue and there’s enough to easily get the reader back for issue two. Shehan does a nice job on the art, although Kat’s black eye at times makes her look like Marvel’s Domino!
