HUNDRED WORD HIT #13 - NORTHLANDERS #37-39

Hundred Word Hit #13

Northlanders #37-39 by Brian Wood & Simon Gane

The Siege of Paris

Known for their successful lighting raids, the Vikings’ attempt to take Paris in a similar fashion sees the Norsemen embroiled in a lengthy siege. It’s clearly an unfamiliar style of warfare to Mads a veteran of many campaigns, who along with his companions and the Mad Monk Abbo, struggle to deal with the futility of siege. The story takes us knee deep in mud and muck with arrows and hot oil flying round.  Mads tries something spectacular to end the siege losing an arm in the process before wise heads eventually prevail to decide a pragmatic outcome for both sides.
