Marvel’s roster of X-Books expands again with SWORD. Not the SWORD from WandaVision, but Abigail Brand fresh from resigning from Alpha Flight sets up the mutant space program on the Peak space station.
An interesting first issue which largely has Brand walking Magneto through The Peak sharing her ideas for SWORD with him. There are a couple of sub-plots teasing future storylines but on the whole not much happens.
A solid debut but ultimately will SWORD be able to find its own identity amid the multitude of mutant books currently published and Marvel’s cosmic titles?
Time will tell.
